Has it really been almost a month

since my last post?  Oh my goodness!

So where exactly did March go?  If anyone saw it, please advise, as I seemed to have lost mine!  I think I may just update with photos as that will be easier!

p1020495 Luke finally got his first proper haircut, which just made him look so much older!  My little boy is growing up and is almost 11mths!

p1020500 My mom lovingly sewed up Luke’s jumper for me.  Believe it or not it does fit him, and he wears it back to front, as the v is meant to be the back but I let him wear it as a v-neck!

p1020503 I have been trying to do a bit of crochet and knitting and I have made loads of progress but have not taken pictures!  This is my first flora from Natural Dye Studio I am making, but need to speak to Amanda to make sure I am joining them correctly!

I have done other samples of different stitches which has been good fun.  I am currently also making a dishcloth with crochet, and am knitting Glace from Rowan.  That is coming along alot better than I ever thought and am really loving knitting it!  Cross stitch is not something I have been able to do due to a certain little boy!

So April, well we are going away for Easter on a boat with my parents and brother and am really looking forward to it.  A bit nervous I have to admit with Luke but it should be really good fun!

Simon and I celebrate 2yrs on married life in April as well.  Although we are not doing anything special for it, but that is ok!

What else…………not sure really, so I won’t babble on, but hopefully will have some lovely pictures to post after our Easter Weekend away!

Life!

That is such a big subject!

Things once again have been busy!  We went up to Peterborough last weekend for my brothers birthday.  It was the first time we have stayed over since having Luke and have to say he was a little angel!  Totally took it in his stride!  We went out for lunch on the Sunday to a lovely restaurant and he was so well behaved, that most of the other diner’s never even realised there was a baby there!

I can’t believe we are just 10wks away from Luke’s first birthday, and whilst I don’t want a huge party, I am trying to arrange a family get together for it, not always the eaiset and also then an afternoon when his other litter friends can come round!  Not easy these days!  Can’t believe how far in advance peoples diaries get booked up.  But I should really as ours does!

Luke is now pulling himself up on things, which is great, but also keeping me on my toes!  I used to be able to still dabble in work in the afternoons when he got home from Nursery, but no more!  Whilst I don’t hang round him all the time, I need to keep my senses about me!

I seem to have woken with an awful cough this morning and am not feeling great, just hope it does not linger for long!

Right off to work on the granny square blanket a bit more!

Luke Update

February 21, 2009 shazzastitching 1 comment

Well my little boy is now 9mths old and I am not sure where time has gone.  He has two bottom teeth, is crawling all over the place, claps his hands when asked and eating us out of house and home!

He had his first hair cut on the 19th.  He loved it as well, which was good, as it made it easier for us! p1020417 p1020411

We also finally got him his first pair of shoes, they are for crawling, but I am not sure he is too used to them yet!  But at least they do stay on, which is great! 14th-feb-09-1

Finally we had a family day on Friday at Colchester Zoo.  It was great, rather busy with it being half term but had a great time! p1020438

Luke is now at nursery for 3 mornings a week, which is great, as it means I can totally focus on work whilst he is there, then we do swimming on a Tuesday and singing on a Friday, so he is still a very busy little boy!

Not much else to write about I am afraid, so till next time, cheerio!

Christmas 2008

This year Christmas, was always going to be special with it being Luke’s first.  However I have to say I think next year will be even better when he gets a better understanding of it, and can appreciate his presents more.

My family came down on Christmas Eve and stayed through to the 27th which was lovely.  It was great for them to be able to spend so much time with Luke.  Luke loved having people round the house and was not too phased by it.  He was so well behaved it was great!

Christmas presents we in abundance and Luke got well and truley spoilt!  As for my, well I got what I wanted which was great!  I never got a lot of crafty stuff, as I have so much stock (lol) of things, I really need to work through it all I think before I get anymore!  But saying that there are some cross stitch kits out there that may just make their way onto my birthday present list!  I got a new Kipling Bag which is great, some shoes, perfume, other bits and bobs and 4 magazine subscriptions!  So I was very happy!

Luke’s present list is alot larger, but at least most will last him till he is at least 3yrs old!  So he will get lots of use out of them!

My brother and I cooked Christmas lunch and we had a lovely meal and overall a lovely day!  So roll on 2009!

3wks + 6days!

Wow, can’t quite believe that Luke is 4weeks old tomorrow, how time is flying by!  So how have the last 4 weeks been?

Well we are settling into parenthood really well, and Luke is generally a very good baby.  We have our grizzly times in the evening but that is expected and we are getting used to dealing with them now!

He was weighed on Friday and is now 10lbs 12ozs, so he is growing well!

Parenthood is a wonderful job!  Yes it can be stressful at times, but so worth it, as he is just so precious!

I have still not tried to drive yet, and am hoping to give it a go this week.  I have managed to start lifting stuff which is great, as it means I am slowing being able to do more and more round the house!

Luke sleeps pretty well most nights and really hope it continues.  He cry’s when we put him down but he then only wakes once during the night so can’t really complain!

I have not done any crafting, naturally.  As much as I would love to, I find I spend so much time with Luke and if I am not looking after him because he is sleeping then I am reading baby books!

I am also hoping to start attending some baby groups soon, so that will be good to get out and meet other mothers!

Roll on the next week!
