Sock Course – 29.09.07

September 30, 2007 shazzastitching 2 comments

I finally managed to attend a Sock Course and how much did I enjoy it!!!!!!

Loads, it was just fantastic!

Ok so the picture does not really resemble a sock, but at least I have managed to practice all the techniques needed, to create one!

I managed the cast on, heel shaping, picking up stitches, and then toe grafting!

We used 4mm DPN’s with DK wool and it was great. So I am off to start a pair in DK to see how I get on before I resort back to the normal sock yarn and smaller DPN’s so watch this space for a finished pair!

September has been a month of wonderful postal parcels being received!

First is my bag I received from the bag swap on Angel Yarns. Beautiful isn’t it? I love it and all the goodies were great as well!

This was my swapees first time at intarsia and lace and I think she did a wonderful job! Thank you!

Next I have some yarn that I swapped with a lady in the States. I wanted to try Sugar ‘n Cream as you can’t buy it here, and she wanted to try Natural Dye Studio yarn, so we swopped! I love the colours she chose they are great!

Yummy parcels!!!

Knitting Update

September 2, 2007 shazzastitching Leave a comment

So a quick update on my knitting!

My FC No 2 is on the repeat 10 and is coming on well, really enjoying it and working very hard to get it done in time! Fingers crossed I manage it.

I will be having to start christmas presents very soon though, so the shawl needs to be done ASAP.

I have an accessory swap that I am involved in on the go at the moment, will be sending my stuff this week, so am very keen to see what I receive back!

I am also doing a bag swap and that is great fun although I need to knit the bag, and may take it to Scotland to do on the train!

Oh and I am finally on Ravelry, what a fantastic website.

Short and sweet but need to get knitting!
